About Susan
She's a hot Asian girl looking for a hot Asian doctor.
About Michael
He's the hot Asian doctor looking for a hot nurse. Just kidding. He ended up with Susan, who is wayyy better than a hot nurse. He is the luckiest guy in the world. For real.
Michael received his M.D. from UT Southwestern Medical School in May of 2003 and is surviving his first year of Pediatric residency. Susan graduated with her Master of Public Health in 2002 and is currently working for a healthcare IT consulting company. By the time their wedding date rolls around, they will have been dating for TEN (10) years. At last, they are tying the knot. They will live in Dallas after the wedding and will be traveling later in the year to Barcelona for their honeymoon.

When we got Engaged
May 31, 2003
How it Happened
According to Susan:
It was Michael's graduation from medical school. Both our families and many of our closest friends were all there to help congratulate him on the end of four years of hard work. After the ceremony, he had to return his cap and gown before coming to meet us, so we (the two families) waited outside for him. Apparently, Michael had kept the proposal a big secret from everyone because all our friends bolted immediately after the ceremony to go to the restaurant (they were hungry for steak at Morton's and they wanted to beat traffic). A LONG TIME passed, and I was beginning to get more than a little frustrated that he was taking so long. Finally, he appears. And as I was thinking how odd it was that all his med school friends were trailing behind him like some kind of gang, he walked over to me, took out "the box," and got down on one knee.
From the group of strangers that had formed a circle around us to watch, two women yelled out "Don't just say yes to any man!!" :) but I didn't listen to them and joyously said "Oh, YES!" to the big question. Our friends came running up a split second after it happened, and so we re-enacted the proposal for them at the restaurant. It was a great day. We cannot wait to see all of our friends and family come together to help us celebrate!
And p.s. Michael IS the luckiest guy in the world!
